Terms of Use for the Botrose Community

This page explains the rules that keep the forum useful for everyone. By joining Botrose, you agree to the conditions below. They cover how members share content, how we handle liability, and what happens if these terms change. Read them once, then get back to your build.

1. What the Forum Offers

Botrose is a community space for hobby robot builders and electronics enthusiasts. Members post build logs, troubleshooting notes, part sourcing tips, and local meetup ideas. The forum is organised around project categories such as motor drivers, chassis design, microcontroller code, and battery management. Content is meant for personal, non-commercial learning and sharing. We do not provide professional engineering advice, and you should not rely on forum posts as a substitute for your own testing or qualified guidance.

2. Your Responsibilities as a Member

You are responsible for the content you post and for how you use the information you find here. When you share a build log or a code snippet, make sure it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and clearly marked if it is untested. Do not post harmful instructions, counterfeit parts listings, or anything that could mislead another member into unsafe practices. You must also respect the work of others: if you reference someone else's design or code, give credit and link back to the original thread.

3. Liability and Disclaimer

Working with electronics, motors, batteries, and 3D printers carries inherent risk. Botrose, its moderators, and other members are not liable for any damage, injury, or loss that results from following advice found on this forum. All content is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. You build at your own risk, and you are expected to follow basic safety practices, such as checking polarity, fusing your power supply, and keeping heat sources away from flammable materials.

4. Acceptable Use and Content Standards

Keep discussions constructive and on-topic. We do not allow spam, advertising of commercial services without prior approval, or posts that promote illegal activity. Harassment, hate speech, and personal attacks are grounds for immediate removal. If you see a post that violates these standards, flag it for a moderator rather than engaging in a public argument. We reserve the right to remove content and suspend accounts that breach these rules.

5. Termination of Access

We may suspend or terminate your access to the forum if you violate these terms, disrupt the community, or act in a way that harms other members. If your account is terminated, you may lose access to threads you have started and messages you have posted. We will usually give a warning first, but we may act immediately in cases of spam, illegal content, or threats. You can stop using the forum at any time by closing your account and discontinuing your participation.

6. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time to reflect how the forum operates or to address new legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will post a notice in the community announcements section before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the forum after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with the revised conditions, you are free to leave the community.

7. Contact for Legal Questions

If you have questions about these terms, how your content is used, or a dispute with another member, contact us at info@botrose.com. We aim to respond within a few working days. For formal correspondence, you can also reach us by phone at +27(15)6686236.

Last updated: January 2025. These terms apply to all members of the Botrose community, regardless of whether you post content or simply read the threads.
